Change management is one of the most important leadership approaches in Saudi Arabia today, especially in light of the significant growth the country is experiencing as part of Vision 2030.
As an expert, I offer you, as a leader, practical ways to support your approach to implementing change within the workplace.
Two main stages of change management:
Stage 1: You as a Leader!
Dealing with your comfort zone:
It's important to realize that change often comes outside your comfort zone. So, ask yourself:
“Do I feel comfortable with this change?”
Discuss your feelings clearly with yourself, and gradually begin to steer yourself toward a mindset that is compatible with the new change.
Your actions at work:
After processing your feelings, move on to:
Understand the behaviors required of you to lead this change.
Identify the key needs in your business environment (e.g., systems, people, skills, culture) that you need to focus on to effectively implement change.
The more precisely you define your factors, the more efficiently you will implement change.
Phase 2: Your team 🚶🏻🚶🏻♀️
Understanding team feelings:
Analyze how your team feels about the change: Are they anxious or disengaged?
Determine how you will effectively deal with these feelings to ensure the success of the change.
Appropriate driving style:
Clearly define the leadership style you prefer to use with your team to achieve the change goals (e.g., transformational or transactional leadership).
Clearly identify potential challenges and plan to address them. Be prepared for any surprises.
a summary:
I hope this approach will support you on your journey as a leader to successfully implement change and achieve your leadership goals.
